On Sunday I captured this shot at the Botanical Gardens of a Moth resting on a leaf. I only captured 1 shot until it flew away & this is it! Enjoy x

what a wonderful shot!
Hello, this isn’t a moth. It’s a butterfly a member of the Skipper family.
Really?? Haha I asked my Dad too & he thought it was. I’ll Google Skipper Family now & have a look.
The latin name for the family is Hesperiidae. We have eight species in the UK. If it helps a butterfly usually has clubbed ends to its antennae, a moth’s are usually feathered at the end. Skippers have this characteristic moth like pose with the fore- and hindwings held at different angles.
Thank you Mary

I’ve just been told its not a Moth? Haha. Just researching now what it actually is. Thank you :)
